“I was challenged to think of race from a new perspective and have become a better Christian by seeing everyone as a child of God more than I did before reading this” -Katie Purcel (Ankeny IA)
This book opened my heart and eyes to the challenges of inner city upbringing. As a victim of rape it gave me a perspective of how an innocent man was punished for a crime and yet still found the love of Jesus in the prison system. As I read this I found myself weeping. (In a great eye opening way!) -Lori Roberts (Galesburg IL)
I really liked the book. I started reading and couldn’t put the book down. It is a book I recommend to everyone. It opens your eyes the real truth of being Jesus like. It makes us question ourselves the way we live & treat others. The book teaches us to not judge but to love and understand others. A very good read! -Angelina Ojeda (Galesburg IL)
This book really drew me in! The story was very interesting and kept me turning the pages. I love how the author intertwined three topics in this book - the actual story, the racial inequities in our culture, and the Christian viewpoints of how to wade through these items in today's world. These topics can be heavy but the short chapters and real life examples made this an easy read. I recommend this book to anyone that wants to help make a difference in our world -Jeanna McBain (Clive IA)
